B-Scape 1.0 OffsideOn
Immersive Video Installation
An immersive installation at Henry Urbach Gallery in New York using one-way mirrored Plexiglas screens, steel poles, and video projections to create hologram-like effects — the B-Scapes body studies, projected onto the mirrored surfaces, appeared to float over the Manhattan cityscape visible through the gallery windows.
An interactive spatial installation at Henry Urbach Gallery, New York, that used the B-Scapes body studies as the premise for an immersive viewing environment. The installation consisted of one-way mirrored Plexiglas screens mounted on steel poles with video projections — the B-Scapes images, derived from 3-D modeling and photo-collaging of protective sports gear (an analog to protecting the real body in virtual space), were projected onto the mirrored surfaces to produce a hologram-like effect. Viewed against the gallery windows, the projected body-scapes appeared to hover over the Manhattan cityscape beyond, creating an interplay between the virtual body and the real city.
Materials
