Master Plan

Asymptote's design for this area creates a significant urban connection between the park and the Macro plaza with the intention that these connected areas will be part of a larger network extending to the Canal Santa Lucia and continuing to Fundidora Park. Asymptote's design strategy for the new urban plan is to create a cohesive whole where all of its constituent parts and diverse aspects contribute to the overall goals for the district.

New green spaces provide an attractive and useful linkage system through the district as well as assist in defining specific edges between sub-areas within the Colegio Civil District. Each of these public and green spaces has a different character, lending a sense of identity to the immediate vicinity and providing a vital urban space that is associated with new or refined programs such as new business, markets, cultural zones, residential and mixed-use areas and the like. This new network of open and green nodes works at multiple scales as it links the important areas adjacent to the Colegio Civil District, but also provides leisure spaces for residents, workers and visitors to the area.

Asymptote's design includes three new towers that will provide a link between the institutional and governmental buildings of the Macro plaza. A new open space surrounds the bases of these towers and links them to the open and green spaces in the Macro plaza as well as part of the Colegio Civil's green and open space network. Besides office functions, the towers also provide a variety of uses at the ground and lower levels including commercial, recreational and cultural programs.
