Butterfly Pool House

New York
The Butterfly Pool Project is a private training facility located in the suburbs of New York. Designed for a family passionate about swimming, the project transforms a limited site into a near-Olympic standard pool area that harmonizes with its natural surroundings.
Design and Architectural Harmony
The core challenge of the Butterfly Pool Project was to create a single-lane pool, closely resembling Olympic dimensions, within a highly constrained site. The solution involved a sleek, elongated structure that maximizes the use of space while ensuring aesthetic appeal. The rhythmic, musical integration of glazing provides the perfect balance between privacy and openness, allowing users to connect with nature during their workouts. The design's fluidity and transparency evoke the graceful movement of a butterfly, inspiring the name of the project.
Wellness and Subterranean Innovation
To complement the swimming pool, the project also includes a wellness spa area equipped with a sauna and relaxation zone. Due to spatial limitations, these features were ingeniously placed underground. This subterranean design not only optimizes the available space but also creates a serene, immersive environment for rest and rejuvenation. The Butterfly Pool Project successfully blends functionality with beauty, offering a secluded, peaceful retreat for both exercise and relaxation.
